The Long Thursday

It's day four of the fast.
And, it feel like a long Thursday is ahead. I'm writing today from a place that I rarely visit. And find it interesting it's in the middle of our community fast.
But, I know I'm not alone. We have all looked into a loooooooong Thursday. Or long season. We have prayed every prayer we know to pray. We have hoped beyond hope. We have sacrificed and believed. On a long Thursday, nothing appears to have moved.
This is where we make a hard choice. It's okay to shed tears and wonder what in the world is going on. It's okay to pray and tell our Father of our doubts and fears. It's okay to share that we don't understand.
Why didn't the breakthrough happen. Where is the Lord in the middle of my mess? When will I see Him move for my benefit and to show Himself powerful?
My friends, a long Thursday stretches into a longer Friday. It was a long Friday that our Savior was crucified. He was tortured. Where was God? He was betrayed. Satan laughed and declared his victory.
Today, and this message is likely only for me..... But...... Today is a long Thursday and Friday looms with hope far in the distance, difficult, and laden with obedience to finish what we started. To BELIEVE...
But we know the end of the story. Sunday is Comin'.
Resurrection LIFE.
On earth as it is in heaven.
That's where I am today on this loooooong Thursday. I'm peering through a glass that is shadowed, looking to the horizon of Resurrection. That is where I live today. That is all I have today. And
That is enough.
