Biblical Example of Jesus Healing The Soul
Place A Demand Upon Faith

Jesus Heals The Woman’s body AND Her Soul

Jesus Heals Kingdom Life LynndonovanIn this series on healing the soul, we are currently unpacking the story in Luke 8 about the woman with the issue of blood.

43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”
47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” —Luke 8:43-48

In my previous posts I’ve unpacked this story as a likely soul wound. I’ll repeat: What I’ve come to learn through my healing and deliverance ministry is that most of the time (not always) people who suffer with a long debilitating illness that physicians struggle to diagnose, that illness is often (not always) rooted in an unhealed soul wound. Take a look at verse 43.

My friends, we were NOT made for trauma. Trauma is entirely created by the demonic realm to create pain in our spirit, soul and body. The enemy creates traumatic events to open a soul wound and to establish that wound in a lie. This way the demonic can take up oppression and exert control and manipulation over an individual or animal.

A soul wound occurs when we experience trauma. This wound will remain in the soul until it is healed by the truth, love and the blood of Jesus Christ. I often pray with people who are carrying soul wounds from when they were very small children. These wounds continue to affect their lives and relationship well into adulthood until they are touched and healed through counseling, prayer and best of all, prayer and counseling when it’s severe trauma.

Reading this woman’s story in the Luke looks very much like an unhealed trauma wound. Thus her 12 years of suffering and the physician’s confusion and lack of effective treatments. But what I love about this story is her determination to seek healing, to touch the Healer. When she reached for Jesus her soul was healed and her body at the same time. I think this happened because she had listened to Jesus teachings. She believed who He said He was. And it was love that sealed the deal.

Love and the blood of Jesus HEALS…. The soul, the body, a marriage, a city…..

It’s utterly astonishing that her reaching out and touching the fringe of Jesus’ garment, put a demand upon the healing power within Him.

Whoa!!!!

What is that all about???? It’s a faith demand. Her faith. His willingness.

So my friends, the question for this week. How do we possess her kind of faith that places a demand upon the healing power of Jesus? Is it possible? How does Jesus respond?

Oh, so many more fun questions to unpack. I LOVE studying the Trinity. Stay tuned. We are just getting started.

I bless you today with Divine health. I bless you to KNOW you are worthy of a healing touch from our Savior. I bless you to sit with the Lord and ask Him what trauma wounds exist within and to reveal His healing. In Jesus name. AMEN\

I love you my friends, Lynn
