Biblical Example of Jesus Healing The Soul
08/23/2020
So I hope you worked through the questions from the earlier post about the soul. Today, I want to share a story from the Word about a physical healing. But what I glean from this story is reflective of a soul healing and deliverance.
Let’s take a look.
43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”
47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” —Luke 8:43-48
This story has become profoundly important to me in the past week regarding praying for healing for myself and others. Jesus continues to bring the power of this passage alive in my spirit. There is tremendous wisdom and powerful truth here if we ask for the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
First, what I’ve come to learn through my healing and deliverance ministry is that most of the time (not always) people who suffer with a long debilitating illness that physicians struggle to diagnose, that illness is often (not always) rooted in an unhealed soul wound. Take a look at verse 43.
How many years has this woman suffered? How many doctors did she seek out for her healing? We know 12 years and spent all of her money on cures that didn’t help. Personally, I’m grieved to know this happens to people when I am convinced that healing is possible through Jesus. I wish it was simple to obtain that healing. It’s rarely simple. But healing can be found in Jesus. This truth is clearly stated in the Word. READ THIS. Let is change your conscious mind.
A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all. —Matthew 15:30
This woman became so desperate, she broke a number of social protocols and rules to surge forward and touch the fringe of His garment. THIS is where healing happens.
Healing occurs when we are desperate, determined, relentless and sold out that Jesus WILL HEAL US. AND once we get to this place, then the real battles begin. But begging Jesus to heal you and wishing He would heal you, well in my humble opinion, it requires more.
FAITH. BELIEF. PERSISTANCE. HOPE
These four pillars of the Kingdom must reside within or we must be in pursuit of these with all that we know and understand. We must also possess absolute belief in the Word of God that Jesus heals ALL when we come to him.
We see that this woman in the crowd was desperate. Let’s all become desperate for Jesus to touch something in our lives.
Next time, we will look at her healing and how this occurred.
